Geography: Africa´s video

1. Where in the world is Africa?
Africa is a continent located south Europe and southwest  Asia .

2. How many times is Africa larger than The United States?

 Africa is three times larger tha the USA

3. How is the savanna defined in the video?

 It´s defined as the wild open grasslands in africa

4. Which animals can be found in the savanna biome?
 In the savanah you can find giraffes and elephants

5. Where is located the chaparral biome in Africa?
 The chaparral biome is located in the northern coast  of Africa along the mediterranean coast and it can be also found in some parts of south africa.

6. Which are the most famous deserts in Africa?

The most famous deserts are the sahara desert, the namib desert and the kalahari desert.

7. The main natural resources mentioned in the video are ....

  the Gold mines, oil and rubber trees. 

FIND THE MISSING WORDS

1.  Africa runs 5 000 miles from the Mediterranean sea all the way down to the cape of good hope and 4 600 miles from  the cape Verde  all the way over to Somalia.

2.      Biomes are climate zones and throughout that area, throughout that  region  , you can see the same average  temperature and average  precipitation  what that means is that you also see very similar animals and plants  living in that region.

3.      The most famous desert in Africa is, of course, the Sahara desert. Now, some parts of the Sahara desert are   sandy  , like you can see here. Other parts of the Sahara desert are  rocky  but in either case, the fact that it is very  dry  is going to make it a very difficult barrier to cross.

4.      It is not the  rain  itself that’s particularly important, it’s also the biodiversity. There are many different  plants and animals   That can be found in the rainforest   and that’s one of the thing that makes the rainforestso  variable not just in Africa but throughout the Earth.

5.      The  Nile  is the most famous river in Africa, because is the  longest river in the world. But there is also the  Congo river  which is the  second longest river in the world.

6.      Africa actually has its own version of the  Great  Lakes with famous lakes like Lake Malawi  lake Victoria and lake  Tanganyika .

7.      All the Africa is a plateau. Meaning that Africa itself is an   elevated   land. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find any   mountains in Africa. You can find mountain ranges like, for example, the Atlas in northwestern Africa.

8.      Africa also has some interesting mountains like  Kilimajaro  mountain , the highest  peak in Africa which seems to just  rise on it own out of the  ground.

9.      The Great Rift Valley refers to a region of Africa that is  literally, being  split apart. There are some  tectonic plates  that are located within or near Africa, that are, actually,  moving away from each other, and what’s doing is creating not just some of the highest  elevations in Africa, but also lakes like  Tanganyika that is among the  deepest in the world.

Self-assessment

I really enjoyed this term in the english classes. Now I can talk more fluently and I´m more self-confident about sepeaking aloud in english, now I also can express my self better because i´ve learnt  lots of vocabulary and also grammar!:) I liked most the way of  carrying the class and how the teacher managed to make us have fun while learning english, i think the more we have fun, the esaier is for us to learn a language. I think my strength is my speaking because when i want to say something I exactly know how to express my self and my weakness, in my opinion is my is my wrtitting because sometimes i make silly mistakes. I did in my exams because i got quite good marks. I think i´m not confused about anything. I think i don´t need help in nothing specific but when i need help i just ask for it to my partners or to the teacher. I went to english classes to prepare my self for the first certificate exam and i also talked with some english friends living in ireland and london. I need to improve in the presentation of my blog, but i´m working to make it better. I learned about new zealand tribes´celebrations and also about types of films and how to make and international blockbuster.

Trip to Valladolid

I was really looking forward to the trip before we left,and it went quite well. I didn´t like the first part of the concert too much but the last song was really interesting and creative. The wine museum was interesting but a bit small I liked the smelling part. The castle has really beautyful views and it is quite awesome. BFN

Landscape: North ireland coast

The north coast of ireland also called `` the giant´s causeway´´.

LOCATION:

It is located in the northesatern coast of irish island, 3 km far to the north from Bushmills, it was discovered in 1693 and declared world heritage in 1986 and national nature reserve in 1987. It was crestwd by the relatively quick  cooling of the lava in a volcano, it is formed by 40.000 basalt columns

CLIMATE:

Ireland has a warm and wet climate. A warm oceanic climate. the temperatures are normally cool our cold. There are four seasons but in ireland there are lots of precipitations normally in rain our snow, sometimes in autumn there are destructive and srtong winds.

FAUNA:

 
The most common animals are red foxes, ferrets and hares.



FLORA:
Almost all the island is covered by a green meadow and shamrocks. there´s also other plants like the

sphagnum. In the past there were lots of forests of oaks, holm oaks and elms. But they were cut out by the humans to get vegetal charcoal.
